SEPI Research Awards

SEPI has created two new research achievement awards:

SEPI Dissertation Award

Graduate students who are SEPI student members and who have had a dissertation proposal approved by their university are eligible. The purpose of this award is to support ongoing or planned research. The theme of the dissertation must in some way be related to psychotherapy integration. This award can be used for any purpose related to the dissertation, such as materials, instruction, or conference participation. Doctoral students can nominate themselves or can be nominated by any SEPI member.  The award is $1000 US.

SEPI New Researcher Award

SEPI members who are new researchers with 5 years or less post-training experience (e.g., post-Ph.D. or post-residency) are eligible. The award will be based on an empirical paper that is in press or has been published within the last 2 years. The theme of the publication must in some way be related to psychotherapy integration. This award can be used as the awardee decides, although it is encouraged that it be used for SEPI conference attendance. Candidates must be nominated by a SEPI member and cannot propose themselves. The award is $1000 US.

Recipients for the awards will be chosen by SEPI’s Research Committee.  Submissions for both awards must be accompanied by at least one letter of recommendation and should be sent to the chair of the Research Committee.  A nomination form can be found here.

New Researcher awardees will receive their award at the annual SEPI Conference, at which point they will present their work.  Dissertation awardees will present their work at a conference once the dissertation is completed.

The deadline for submissions is February 1st of each year.

Electronic submissions are preferred. If there is material that can't be sent by email/attachment, please send these pieces by mail and indicate this in your electronic submission.
